Notice period, early join

My current company notice period is two months 23-Dec-2024 to 20-feb-2024. But my new employer asking for early join ie 3rd of feb! I requested for early relieve to My current employer. Verbally they agreed to relieve two weeks early but now they not ready to relieve early. They want me to complete two months notice period. My new employer asking to join early! What can I do? I am heading the company. Good team to start with. Less clients right now & so less work load. Confident of getting more clients and work load. Work -life balance is quite good. Can work well beyond office hours at will or take break when it is needed. Getting new clients through referrals is boosting the morale.

The Indian economic slowdown has impacted all the business activities. HR is very critical for any organisation but is considered secondary after finance and production. So installing systems and procedures is always calla later dated as " let us see at a later date".
