Dislikes

There is no working culture, no HR policies, no work life balance, no career or financial growth, no compensation. They ask employee to work for any no. of hours. They don't have clarity in the clients requirements still want the work to be completed asap. No credits for experienced employees, they even ask freshers to go onsite, who dont even have knowledge of projects. They use very obsolete technologies. Being a product company hardly anyone know much about the project fucntions, and they dont even give proper training of product, this is the reason why people working there have hardly any knowledge of the product of newgen. Appraisals are also minimal with too much work pressure . No work life balance. They still have sir maam culture. No corporate training are provided in person. No compensatory leaves are provided if employees are asked to work on Public holidays. HR is not active, they are not able to take any decisions without managers approval. No extra facilities provided like reimbursements or cab facility or food. No senior members are there hence everything is new for all the people. Lack of proper project specific documentation. People have to struggle when starting to work on any project. Also seniors and colleagues are too busy to help anyone. At client sites people and teams respond way to slow.

Job security is there as most of the employees are leaving the company so it has a scarcity of resources. Career Growth chances are high due to less competition.

Dislikes

There is no focus on skill enhancement of employees. Even product training(full-time training) is given with project assigned and deliveries planned. Pay Scale is very low and the company is never able to meet the offer and it has to let go even good employees. Newgen is really good for two things: Exposure and Appraisal. Another thing that I find good about Newgen is job security.

I only did not like the teams which I was assigned to in the first three years of my experience because there was a lot of unhealthy politics. But that is particularly my own experience and I do not feel that the experience was particularly because of the company; I could have come across such people in any other organisation also. But to be honest, the last two years were amazing because I was a part of a very good client and my team was also very good.
