John Deere is a fantastic company to work with, lot of intelligent people around, Extensive data from past engineers to learn about products, fantastic documentation process

Climbing the corporate ladder is difficult, career advancements are typically when someone retires or when someone leaves the team, Workload varies from team to team, some team may go for extended periods without producing much, while others may be intensely working form months

If you are part of team, where modernization of products is happening then its really good opportunity to learn. Technical architects are their to suggest newer architectural designs.

Dislikes

Favoritism. Few managers favors some members within his team based on personal interests/relations. Due to that appraisals/promotions are given to his favorites rather than who is deserving or talented. Internal networking is more important of deere culture than technical knowledge depth of employee.

Layoffs after introducing nee core value Humanity. They are firing employees immediately(within 30 minute we need to leave office after receiving call from HR) which is not good. They should be transparent and give few months before firing. They don’t analyse requirements before adopting new technology(Recently we have purchased Palantir Live stream licence but don’t analyse whether it will work for requirements or not). Managers are very supportive. Fairly positive environment for working.

Supervisors are utterly unreliable and untrustworthy. They actively work against you if you show competence, collaborating with associates and ATs to undermine your efforts. They blatantly reject your projects and hand them over to ATs, making the environment toxic and demoralizing. Their behavior is not just unprofessional but outright hostile.

I experienced some bad things in guntur John Deere showroom like no value for who is working hard and correct.gossipping and misleadings takes lots of priorities.the rumours take lots of value.Mediators spreads the misleadings.but MD sir doesn't know the reality.

Bad leadership especially in the software validation department If you are high performer & you don't have the ability to sugar coat you would not be promoted; your promotion would be given to wives/chatukars/beautiful girls who are working in the same department. There is a typical pattern for promotion: go to onsite, come back and get promoted as senior lead enginner. If you have a working wife in the same department, she will resign from India, will join as an external employee in John Deere usa on spouse visa, will come back to India and would join the same department on promotion.
