Its being a PSU has a corrupt work environment, where high performers are subdued to work for non performers. The growth is time based rather than performance based, and is based on reservation. Thus, a high performing general category candidate will be disappointed. Beware of corruption as seniors tends to hide their corruption andput blames on junior officers . There is cartel of senior officers against new joiners and putting blames on them to set files and removes their own cases. The perks are good, but a good candidate can get better salary in any MNC than at a PSU. Job satisfaction is also low, as instead of your qualification, the politics behind transfers is the main reason for assigning job profiles. IOC gives lot of job security besides name and fame. Work culture was good at our time. What changes have taken place after I left is not known to me. One thing I would like to request is that people like us should also be considered for medical benefits.

Dislikes

If childcare was provided by the company within the premises mothers like me could have continued with the job. Secondly some senior officers do not understand that women have an additional duty at home as well. So to that extent they do need little helping hand from their seniors.
