Initially I was placed in banglore but it seems northees will never fit there.. people use to talk in their native language. Upon asking what was being discussed nothing was answered. Shifted to gurgaon via internal movement.. here the manager's behaviour is like a pampered kid. If he doesn't get what is required he will start misbehaving with the team. Overall a pathetic experience

Team is supportive, there is learning in every stage. Managers are really supportive and encouraging. Best place to start a career

It's good company to have flexible working hours and job security is there.

There is no HR in IBM and employees don't even know who is their HR. It's manager driven company and we don't get much hikes and promotion process is very slow.

I like to work (I feel like family), coming to work there will be no macro management if work is done no one will ask where you are, I used get cross trained when I will be feel free so that I proudly saya have learnt more in IBM.....

Worst company to spoil your career. Pay is very low compared to the market. Poor hikes, no learning growth, worst management, worst notice period(3 months). Not on the growth side.

Company is very good but people are bad. Supervisor along with other employee Bully. when made complaint nothing happens. Dont let you do job and dont follow hr policy. I was tslked very rudely by female supervisor and males bullied me by doing gestures. IF any thing happens like , do not hesitate to go to police.

The hire at a high salary thenk keep you on bench. Then they ask you to resign as you are on bench. Don't resign.

They don't have any project or requirement. They just hire you to fill their bench. You will get project interviews but none of them will hire you even if your interview was good. And if the interview was bad they will send that review to your WFM which they can later use to justify ending your employment.

The work life balance depends on the manager and work that you are assigned to.

There are no promotions until 3 of employment. For that again you need some industry training. After which managers will send your reference for promotion which again on account basis which can take time of a month, quarter or even a year.

Salary is decent in India Software Labs, equivalent of Tier 2 PBCs. RSUs are also given to employees who perform well. IBM has turned its tech suite around after the RedHat acquisition, even for z/mainframe products. Newer tech stack is being implemented at breakneck pace, enough to overwhelm senior developers as well. Lots of opportunities to learn new stuff, including agentic AI. You will get stuck in one job band for a very long time. Promotions from 7B to 8 are very hard in particular. Also, IBM India is the only entity among all IBM entities to have A and B subbands till job level 7 (tech lead), effectively prohibiting your growth to a decision-making position for a longer time. Indian management, especially managers who have moved laterally from IBM Consulting, is extremely orthodox, and technically inept. If your product delivery is controlled by an onshore lab (U.S., U.K., Germany, etc), expect the Indian management to have no understanding of what it is that you are doing on a day-to-day basis, and to be at loggerheads with the onshore managers. Micromanagement, some managers and senior architects are working since so long 15-20 years and they don't want any fresh and skilled person to stay they are in there comfort zone, worst reality is when i resigned no hr has connected with me even after raising a ticket manager has all the power.

Dislikes

Uncertainty over job. Poor promotion culture where some of the associates get promoted easily and for others it is tough as anything. The perks too are being given that way only.
