Forget about the promotions and good hike. Your growth and development is proportional to your relationship with manager. You will hardly find guidance to help you with growth. I never have talked to HR even though I face issue with my manager. Its president (manager) ruled company

It like all the other service based companies.. It all depends on the project and manager you end up with. It's very hard to generalise things... But it's slightly better than typical service based like TCS, CTS, Wipro or Infosys. But other than that honestly it depends on the team you end up.. it's the fate .

The usual politics like everywhere..Nothing specific. We can't escape this politics in any corporate unless humans are in charge. Wherever you go some politics will be there , be bold and face it ...

IBM Company, HR, RCM are very good. But all of them are being controlled by managers which is difficult to digest. If managers dont like then whatever promotion or onsite oppertunity will be cancelled by Manager of earlier dept. Its very bad. As per IBM company, we can get multuple oppertunity. Even many time, i got internal pressure by managers to leave the organization and they have informed me in meeting that try to search job outside and you will be get fired by layoff which is going to happen by Feb2023 (where everyone hear the news in TV, youtube etc.) So, i try to search joboutside then When i got offer with higher package then, i requested to earlier release (since already my name is in Layoff list) then manager dont like, So he created HR-Lock, which is new name which i never hear which means you cant resign and you cant move out from the project. Now the whole story become "U-Turn", they told none told you to search job outside and my name is removed from layoff list. Once exactly the 50% of the days (i.e) 45days completed then HR-Lock is released. so the personal intension of mangers are not only to move out from organization, but they dont like if we go out more hike too, Managers feel personal happiness when we go out of the company and struggle for the job. Very BAD INTENTION. But i want to highlight that IBM is very GOOD Company, ONLY THE MANAGER ARE WORST. MANAGERS SPOIL THE WHOLE PROJECT AND TRY TO SAVE-GUARD THEIR SEATS TO GET ONLY SALARY. IBM IS GOOD, BUT THE MANAGERS ARE WORST, THEY WILL MAKE CONVINCE YOU INSUCH A WAY THAT THEY WANT TO SAFEGUARD THEIR SEAT. I FACED A WORST SITUATION IN IBM WITH MANAGERS. My name got added in Layoff list and i got informed that i will be terminated any time and manager informed me to search job outside. After their instruction, i searched and got the offer letter with 50% hike and when i try to request for relive me earlier (since my name is already added in layout offlist). Now Manager created a HR-LOCK SYSTEM through i cant get release from the project and resigation. this HR-LOCK TERM i hearly newly, when i sent mutiple emails to HR team, they telling they dont know how it created and they cant resolve it. Manager telling the tools issue, you cant releave from the project and cant apply resignation. But i dont understand that how they told me that my name is added in layoff list and search job outside. then i understood their real picture after 45days that my HR-lock got released after 45days, then releaved from the project. Then i understood that Now mapping with my earlier new offer letter with 50% hike, Manager dont like me to move out the company with 50% hike to other company. Manager want to leave the company and wants me get suffer outside by roaming. Very bad intention. Worst manager intention, Many managers in IBM doing the same.
