Overall work culture is good in HCL but i feel if you are under management role there is alot of politics, drama and bad experiences that you will face. I have been here for 2 years and it’s nothing what i though it would be. Additionally, the appraisal letters are released after 1.5 years for any employee here which is not fair at all

Favouritism. Unskilled people deployed in HR, who are from BA, ops. And QA backgrounds. They don't even know the true meaning of HR. Just being favourites of the boss they would enjoy all benefits and neither themselves nor the boss would do any work. Too much toxic of a culture. Their HR department needs quick overhauling to turn the game.

There is nothing to like about HCLTech. Same story of non deserving people who are driving the organisation in absolutely wrong direction. Zero increment in 3 years and forget about promotion. They make you work for more than 12 hours and ask for accountability for every minute. They have created an hourly file on teams for time entry which makes you feel that you are a slave. Very toxic culture. The team that leads DEI has people like Abhishek Mishra who do not leave any opportunity for demeaning you and passing derogatory comments. Toxic culture. No increment in 3 years. One has to prove every minute and accountabilities. Abhishek Mishra and Puneet Khatri (L&D head) use derogatory comments and cheap LANGAUGE. Make you feel slave. No work life balance. Sycophancy is celebrated over hard work.

Internal politics and favouritism. Long timers are not being paid well salary are very below market but still no step from management to correct them.

Work Culture here is good. People are friendly and suppportive, leaving few exceptions. Working hours are flexible. Hybrid working system is employee friendly.

Dislikes

Salary and benefits and promotion is far below the market rates. They give equal percentage to everyone irrespective of their work. Work recognition is not up to the mark. Permanent work from office may start soon.

No work life balance, Client work needs to be delivered even after out of working hours. No transparency about salary or any other benefits which an employee is eligible. No promotions No hikes Yearly variable gets paid in the 15th month of annual cycle completion.

I always have work to do and learn.

They try to fraud you in whatever way possible. They drag everything as long as they can. All bonus, rewards strech easily to 1 year delay and if you resigned in between you are not eligible even if it's their fault in delay. No ethics. No rules.

Job security, international client base, on-site, decent facilities in office, multiple technologies so you can move internally and learn.

Dislikes

Poor salary hike, people loyal to the company are under appreciated, no mechanism to match the salary of existing employees as per market standards no matter how skilled or certified we are. Lazy employees who are in good books with managers are not questioned leading to more workload on employees who are hard working. Regional politics and use of regional languages by senior management.

Being a new comer employee to HCL Tech gurugram, its going to be tough for me now. Its been one full month since I gave Walk in interview. And the operation interview I gave was on 28 November 2024. Its been approx 20 days and My joining date has not came yet. Earlier my joining date was 9 December 2024 but then it extended but I don't know till when. No update and nothing. Growth opportunity is limited and slow, appraisals are always delayed and hike is below industry standard.
