What I love the most is the feminist vision and that the men of Girl Power Talk are as invested in the company's vision as any other gender. It is a place where talking to men about periods, for example, is not a stigma and a taboo, and nobody feels the need to hide and repress the "period talk". Rather, it is treated exactly the way it should be, as a natural and normal body function. The male leaders of Girl Power Talk understand and believe that "Men need to stop being credited for doing basic things." They have been so supportive, understanding and considerate. The company's hiring process involves screening applicants with a series of introspective questions before conducting any interviews. The carefully cultivated culture reflects this process, leading people to feel at home from the moment they join the company. Instead of merely meeting their immediate supervisor and co-workers, people from all levels of the organization reach out to welcome new hires. Furthermore, a designated "buddy" is assigned to assist with any queries or difficulties during the onboarding process. Another fantastic aspect of working at Girl Power Talk is the flexibility it offers. As a part-time worker, I have the freedom to complete my tasks during the hours which are most convenient for me. There are no limitations on availability as long as the work is completed before the deadline. Additionally, the company is very accommodating when it comes to sick days and vacation requests, and I am not aware of any instances in which they were denied. In fact, Girl Power Talk has provided me and other team members with several opportunities to travel; the company even funded a two-week, all-expenses-paid trip to their headquarters. It has been almost a year since I have joined Girl Power Talk and there hasn't been a single day in the organization which didn't teach me something new. It feels like a dream to now see my progress as a person. Yes, I was a talented young individual before; I was talented and motivated to do something great. But, what is ability wi thout opportunity? Girl Power Talk gave me diverse experience in various fields like Public relations, Marketing, Content Writing, Outreach, Expansion, SEO and the list goes on... Of course, it didn't happen in a day or two. This place has a unique culture of cross-departmental learning. No person just works in one department. Apart from our niches, we all get to work on things we are interested in. These chances to explore and apply our minds and hearts is just another key differentiator that makes Girl Power Talk a dream culture. One of the major pros of being here is an exceptional confidence boost and improved communication. There are so many team members that joined as an introvert who now have become so confident that they deliver keynotes under the leadership of our precious executive team and growing group of mentors, many of them from the USA who we speak with us regularly for learning sessions and coaching via Zoom. International Interaction: The team is global with people from more than 10 countries and you often work with people from different nationalities and get to know about their cultures and make friends. Collectively the experience here inculcates the art of communication within us so that we are eventually ready to become global leaders. This place has a hustle. People are motivated and fired up. Most of the team you will be with is proactive and you can see a twinkle in their eyes to do something. All are inspired to work towards gender equality and to change the world, which amazes me. As everything, this place has its cons too. No tolerance for office politics: Yes, they are very strict and particular about the mental health and wellbeing of the team members, and the people who try to malign the peace are shown the door outwards after warning them about it. Flexibility: Yes, this is a pro but few might view it as a con so listing it here. Basically, they are way above the sloth 9-5 culture<mark style="background-color: #fff5e4;">. In a dynamic work environment, like it is here, people are encouraged to work the most when they feel comfortable</mark>. They are expected to give their best and be better than they were yesterday. In other words, If you are looking to do 8 hours and check out, you won't thrive or likely survive here long-term as they are so many people coming in who realize that you can better your best. Also, if you are mean-spirited and unkind, it comes out. And when it's figured out, leadership here has the courage to say goodbye fast no matter how well you have delivered on your work. Being here is more than just being ambitious and smart, you actually have to care about people and not gossip and backstabbing.
