Company culture is good. Policies are good such as employee benefits, leaves.

Job security: Dell recently layed off more than 12000 employees and may cut down more head count so it's job security is a major issue. Salary: Salary is little below market standards. Appraisal/promotion : Once you reach to principal engineer position, promotion seems like an alien concept because 1 in around 30-40 principal engineer gets promoted to Sr principal level that too after ATLEAST after 10-12 years working as a principal engineer. Skill development/Learning : NO Scope whatsoever for new learning. Most of people who left there jobs recently were due to lack of opportunities to learn new skills and were bored/tired of working on the same things for years. So if you have a hunger to learn new things, Dell is certainly NOT a place for you. If work life balance and culture code is your priority, then Dell is the best workplace. Flexible work timings, high support for employees with families and kids. Management with no micromanaging, gives time and space to do your assigned tasks. Comfortable and satisfied workplace with decent pay standards. Your suggestions and opinions are well valued and transparent with the management.

Dislikes

Frequent layoffs and org restructuring is a matter of concern to job stability. If conditions are favourable, its really good for a long-term workplace :)

* Dell's U-turn towards work-from-home policy. * Employees are always scared about firings. * Managers & Leads always escape during the tough times and ensure they get credit over good things. * Too much of Politics. * A lot of groupism. I am sorry to say the majority are TN folks and they make sure you are cornered all the time.

The Work-Life Balance is becoming very poor day by day with expectations to work late hours and weekends without compensation, is particularly challenging. Compensation and benefits are below industry standards. The immediate management tends to be retaliative and blame-shifting, which creates a challenging and equally toxic atmosphere., The work culture is dying here, is toxic, pressuring employees to overwork. India culture is really sad at Dell tech. Too much of racism , regionalism . They preac over ethics and compliance and force us to do the training every year but the fact is regionalism happens here so openly and HR are like of waste who are agents of upper management. Upper management itself is the main reason of this regionalisms

They say it’s easy to move domains but I see on managers easily move domain even if they don’t know the process. But when it comes lower level employee they reject saying you need become level they require until that you can’t join

Absolutely nothing - it has become a toxic box fueled by services org managers who have changed the complete Dell culture into a toxic environment

Dislikes

The dynamic change of the culture led by toxic service company managers who are out to play favourites and are out to get revenge when feedback is provided to them. I personally am looking for a role change simply due to the toxic work life that has developed ever since these service org managers have been onboarded by dell.
