Why GCCs Love Manyata Tech Park?
- Manyata Tech Park is one of the largest business parks in Bengaluru and the first privately owned SEZ in the city. It spans 121 acres, with about 11 million sq ft of Grade A office spaces and houses more than 50 multinational companies. Its strategic location – just 25 km from Kempegowda International Airport – makes it an ideal choice for global operations. Manyata offers an environment for innovation, collaboration and growth.
- GCCs here aren’t just delivery centers; they lead in cutting-edge R&D, AI, fintech innovation and digital transformation. Manyata Tech Park offers world-class infrastructure, including LEED-certified buildings, on-site residential apartments, five-star hotels, and wellness facilities. Karnataka has been instrumental in fostering GCC growth. Initiatives like the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) and the IT Policy 2020-2025 provide support through grants, R&D funding, skill development programs.
- Bagmane Tech Park spans 42 acres and hosts well-known companies, including Oracle, Texas Instruments, Nike and Dell. Embassy TechVillage, a massive 80-acre development hosts over 40 corporate tenants. RMZ Ecospace spread across 25 acres is home to offices of several well-known companies including Broadcom, RMZ Corp, Microland, and Capgemini. Microsoft recently moved its offices from Manyata in North Bengaluru to Lavelle Road and Sarjapur Road.
- The region still lacks strong momentum for IT expansion. While the upcoming Aerospace Park and other projects might attract companies from different sectors, software firms are unlikely to shift there at least in the next 10-15 years. Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL) has started building a 2 million square feet business park. This project is part of Karnataka’s new Global Capability Centres (GCC) Policy for 2024-2029, aiming to establish Bengaluru as a global hub for GCCs.
- Bengaluru’s journey as a tech hub began in the 1990s with the liberalization of the Indian economy. Tech parks like Electronic City, Bagmane Tech Park, and Manyata Tech Park emerged. As the industry grew, newer tech parks emerged along the Outer Ring Road and in North Bengaluru, offering better connectivity and sophisticated infrastructure. Today, Manyata tech park is a leader as it hosts more than 50 multinational companies.

Dell ends hybrid work policy, demands return-to-office despite remote work pledge
- Dell Technologies will require staff who were previously allowed to work from home part-time to work solely on premises. Remote employees within an hour's drive of a Dell office must also come in every day.
- The policy change, due to take place in March, was revealed by founder and CEO Michael Dell.
- Dell says that specific groups in the company, such as sales, manufacturing and engineering, have already adjusted to being in the office five days per week.
- Jeff Clarke, Dell's chief operating officer, said last year, 'On an ongoing basis, we expect that 60% of our workforce will stay remote or have a hybrid schedule,' but CEO Michael Dell has now instructed all hybrid employees to return to the office full-time.
- Amazon and other companies have trimmed back or ended remote work arrangements, but University of Pittsburgh researchers found that return to office mandates fail to boost firms' financial performance.
- As of last November, Dell's shares were up 86% from the previous financial year, thanks in part to sales of AI-focused servers.
- Dell's CIO and president, Doug Schmitt, has issued a memo instructing directors and above within an hour's drive of a Dell office to commute in starting this week.
- Dell has been rolling back remote working policies implemented due to the pandemic over the past year.
- A Dell spokesperson declined to share data indicating productivity is improved by employees being in the office all week.
- Dell has suffered some headcount loss due to its return-to-office mandate, an anonymous source reported. Headcount attrition in companies is said to rise as RTO mandates are enforced.
