Cognizant has less variable pay and also tax saving options are more. Projects other than BFS domain have good work life balance. Cognizant has udemy license (till 2022) so learning can be done in free time. Health insurance covers parents as well (upto 3 lac)

Most projects in BFS domain do not have work life balance and also technologies they work in are old so you will have to spend more time in troubleshooting than coding. HRs are puppet of managers in Cognizant. Senior management in Cognizant is diplomatic and are unable to show integrity and this the reason of 33% attrition rate from last 3 quarters. 1. Employee have advantage of using learning platform to upskill. 2. External certification few of them are sponsored by Cognizant. 3. The working environment is great. One of the best campuses. 4. Work timings are sometimes flexible but mostly depends on your project team. 5. The healthcare is decent. Not the best in industry though. 6. The best part is outreach programs, they are the best. But depends on your project and work. I participated when I was fresher. But later on the workload didn't allow me to. 7. Job security is good. I came across with so many senior employee who were not that much technically sound. But they still managed to be there and ruin experience for you. 1. Working in some projects doesn't give employee to develop any skills. 2. If you ask for change in project it takes bit longer as BU head approval is needed. But they allow it takes longer though. 3. Sometimes employee skills gets under-utilized. And you will find yourself stuck with doing silly work. 4. During COVID the promotion and hikes were deferred. Personally it affected me, I had to wait 1.5 years to get my pending promotion. 5. Again promotion and hikes are done by your manager and most of the times a non deserved candidate will get it over you. 6. You will understand that you need to sugarcoat and butter-up your leads/managers to get promotion. Which sucks if you are an ethical person. 7. I've seen in my case as well as others that most deserving person will get an average rating. 8. Salary hikes are okay. If you are joining as lateral. Please negotiate the salary carefully. 9. Once you move from ProgrammerAnalyst to Associate band then best option is to switch companies. As it would take a lot of time for you to move to next band. I'd suggest take a detour of 1-2 years and then comeback to CTS to joining SA. You'll find yourself with better salary. 10. My managers gave me worst rating during COVID because I was suffering from it and it somehow cost the "MANAGED Services" part of project. I mean how lame is that even if there's decent team, it turned out to be that I was carrying whole MANAGED Services part alone. And the manager chose to give me a bad rating, not average or anything. 11. If you think you will carry your team alone and sweep the leads/managers off their feet then you are wrong. Just be prepared to hop on 'sugarcoating, buttering-up your leads' band wagon. No matter if it is against your work ethics. I would suggest you to get that promotion at any cost and get out. This review is my personal experience. I personally like Cognizant a lot, it has very good work culture. My personal experience was not the best. But, now I look back and I do feel that was great workplace. As CTS is huge company the experience will differ from person to person. Btw I joined as fresher and worked for 5 years.
