I worked as SME biology in bytedance. They hired candidates on contractual basis but laid off employees after 6 months without giving any reason. Employees who were performing less were retained while who were working meticulously were laid off. High level politics is there. No proper corporate culture. Hiring was done in oayroll ofteamlease. The work life balance was very ideal. But thd hours were not flexible , you have to do everything in the shift time only.

Bytedance made me jobless while during this tough pandemic situation.It gave a contract for an year of 1 year and kicked me out and many others before the termination of contract.It has been very dissapointing.Instead of supporting the employees in pandemic it made us unemployed

Good place to work. Great work culture with amazing work life balance. However recent random lay offs have been a setback for the employees. Suddenly 60 people were fired over a 2 minutes zoom call. So job security is an issue
