Everything... Bytedance made around 60 people jobless in one go without giving any valid reason. We were hired for 1 year contract period during this pandemic, however were terminated at 5th month. It was really terrible to work here. Everyone is biased. Reason for our termination was work closure, however there was no work closurebecause other colleagues are still working. I worked as SME biology in bytedance. They hired candidates on contractual basis but laid off employees after 6 months without giving any reason. Employees who were performing less were retained while who were working meticulously were laid off. High level politics is there. No proper corporate culture. Hiring was done in oayroll ofteamlease. It was good initially but with time, the work sometimes was assigned even during the weekends to meet the project deadline without extra pay. It wasn't very welcoming.
