The only thing I liked about the company was the existence of strong policies and procedures, which was necessary given the history of bad business deals that have happened in the past.

Dislikes

Multiple things - a) No respect for the staff b) No clear communication by the team members and expectation on the work to be done c) Bureaucratic procedure - even for a basic IT upgrade, they require approvals from several chains of command. It delays the completion of the work. d) No training or learning opportunities I was made to leave purposely within 6 months so that they wouldn't have to pay me for my gratuity. They did not give me enough work or project opportunities to be able to deliver my work to the full potential simply because my team never communicated what was expected from me on the job. Even if I try to share my views about the work, I was not respected for it and made to feel that I do not have the ability to think. It is extremely surprising that my department wanted to terminate me for bad work ethics when this company has a terrible history of embezzlement and legal cases. Their projects were having cost overrun in other countries and their finances were in red. But they had to choose me as a target while the senior management was unfazed by this. Politics and favouritism on top. Reward of good work is more work. Talent young engineers ends up training and indirectly working to meet productivity for favoured or employees who enter the organization through approach.
