Struggling to Save While Keeping Up with Friends

I'm a student living in a hostel in Lucknow. My dad pays for my hostel and BTech fees, and he also gives me some pocket money for shopping and food. The hostel room is really expensive, though. My hostel mates are always up for outings and parties, and it's tough to say no. But I really need to save money to help my dad out. Any advice on how to cut back without being a total loner?

Eating out can be expensive. Explore using a common kitchen in your hostel or buying groceries and cooking meals with friends. It can be a fun bonding experience too!

Hey mate! I understand your situation Why don't you suggest more budget-friendly activities with your friends? Explore Lucknow's public parks, and historical sites (many have free entry for students), or have movie nights at the hostel. Lucknow has a vibrant cultural scene, so explore free or cheap events.

I would suggest you to talk to your friends about your situation. Explain that you're trying to save money and would love to do things together, but need to find more affordable options. True friends will understand.

It's great that you want to save money and support your dad! You can still have fun without overspending. Plan budget-friendly activities like movie nights or game sessions with your hostel mates. Communicate your financial goals to them, and they'll understand. Remember, true friends will support your decision to save. Good luck!

Do not cut off on your fun. You are a young kid, and this much thinking shows that you have grown wiser. Just do stuff that is budget friendly. That would be enough for you.
