Sales to Customer Relationship Manager

Hi Guys! I’m into sales, like I do lead generation to fixing the meetings and closing the deals along with post-sales. I’ve a salary of 4Lpa with 2.5yrs of experience. I got an offer for a BDE role at 6Lpa and 5Lpa variable, but I asked for 6.5Lpa - They said they’ll take that into consideration. Later they said they’ll give me a position of CRM - Edit: This role has pre-sales and post sales (Upselling and Cross selling) I don’t know what salary they’ll give and how much should I go for. Please help! P.S. I live in Hyderabad.

CRM roles can be great for long-term stability and career growth! But salary-wise, it depends, are they offering fixed pay close to what you expected for BDE? Have you asked them about the full compensation structure?

If they initially considered you for BDE at 6LPA fixed + 5LPA variable, you should at least negotiate a fixed salary close to that for CRM. Have you tried benchmarking CRM salaries in your industry?

Job titles can be tricky....Sometimes companies tweak them to fit budgets. Make sure you clarify responsibilities, will you be fully into account management, or will sales targets still be involved?

I’ve seen some CRM roles pay less than BDE roles since they’re not direct revenue drivers. If you enjoy sales and closing deals, why not push for BDE instead?
