Career Advice

Hi everyone,

I’m in a dilemma and need advice. I started as a system administrator in a small company, managing web hosting and servers for PHP websites on Linux with Nginx and Apache. After two years, I felt the need to grow and work in a team, so I switched to a junior system engineer role. Unfortunately, I didn’t research the job well and now find myself doing basic tasks for a foreign hosting company—essentially glorified chat support, slightly above entry-level tasks, with flexible shifts I struggle to adjust to.

I feel stuck and disappointed. I have an AWS certification and solid experience with Linux and web hosting, but I’m unsure about my next steps. How hard is it to transition into DevOps? Are there roles focused solely on AWS? What career path should I aim for and what skills should I prioritize? I’d really appreciate any guidance.

Asking for career advice

I had fight with code reviewer he is from other team he is just arrogant and he complains to my manager , The manager gives wrong and negative feedback though I am technically sound , but got released by from the project by the manager

After that I got new project it was only 2 month I done all most all work got spot award also for this by working more than 12 hours .

Because of this overwork I am feeling stressed and new project is coming to me and they just asking me about justification for all 

1 Guys I am in pip but new manager said(may be choclate to employee) we will retain you by giving good feedback 
2 All people in the company want to take me in projects but asking me justification for pip
3.Working more than 12 hours every day and also attending late night calls 

I am stressed out every day with working hours and also the justification given to others lot of politics happening .
 Mentally draining with no patner in my life to share this who can understand this and guid .

I have been working at my current organization for 2.6 years and started with a CTC of ₹8 lakh, which has remained unchanged since my joining. During this period, I have not received any promotions or salary hikes, which has made me question whether I should wait for growth within the company or explore external opportunities.

I am hopeful of getting a promotion in June this year, but I am unsure if it’s worth waiting for. Here’s what I am considering:

1. Stay and wait for the promotion: There’s a possibility of career progression in June. Should I wait for it, considering the time and effort I have invested here?

2. Start looking for a new opportunity: I could begin exploring other organizations where I might receive a better salary, role, and career growth. However, leaving without securing my next promotion feels uncertain.
