Job Offer Dilemma
I’m in a situation and need some guidance.
I have a job offer with:
CTC: 9.4 LPA fixed + 21% variable = 11.4 LPA total.
Location: Chennai (not ideal for me).
Another opportunity is in the pipeline, with a more suitable location, but the expected CTC is around 9.4 LPA, which is significantly lower than the first offer.
To add to the dilemma, the HR of the second company feels that asking for 12 LPA (considering my 9.4 LPA fixed offer) is too high.
How would you approach this decision? Should I prioritize location over salary or vice versa? Are there ways to negotiate better terms with the second company?
Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

When negotiating with the second company you can highlight your skills and experience to ask for a higher salary and you can also inquire if there are chances for future salary increases

Ultimately, the decision is yours. Try to weigh the pros and cons of each offer carefully and choose the one that is best for you with your long-term goals and personal well-being.

It's important to understand your priorities first, if location is more important to you and Chennai doesn’t feel right then considering the second company might be a better option

Prioritize the location because u have to live there. tell them about the first offer it will be helpful in negotiating 💯

I think having an open discussion with HR, emphasizing the significance of the role and the opportunity it presents to you. Instead of focusing the discussion heavily on compensation, it might help you to move the needle beyond 9.4 LPA. mention a reasonable figure that you believe is necessary for you to accept the offer

Great for receiving double offer in your hand and to be frank don't jump directly by looking good salary think about that organisation value and its history performance and then decide accordingly where you can go. If you are money oriented then 12 LPA will good for you 😊 . Remember at a time we ll never get or expect exactly what we demand or needs somewhere we have to compromise ourself but assure it should be carrier based company only .
Thanks all the best 👍

Should I Take the Risk?
I have a crush on a coworker who's higher up and earns more😅We work in different departments, and while she is two years younger than me, she belongs to a higher pay grade of employees who earn almost twice as much as I do, although we do almost similar work. Do you have any tips on how to approach her without making things awkward?
