Is market still down ??18% hike for TPM role in Startup after 5 round of interview .Have notice period of 90 days .Is it good choice ?

I got merely 18% hike on current CTC along with 2lakh joining bonus in my current CTC for Technical Project Manager role that too in a startup .Is really market down these days? How to negotiate . Current CTC -28, YOE-12 years. Disappointed with the offer .There were 5 round of interviews for this role. I am in well settled organisation and doing good and can expect promotion in next cycle FY 25. Please advise.

Your situation is same as what I experienced 6 months back. The actual situation with the big companies is that they have given unrealistic hikes after the Covid period and have overpriced employees at their disposal. So now offering less hikes for damage control. Because of this, small companies or startups also had to offer ridiculously high packages in past 3-4 years but now to have some profitability, they need people on lower prices now which they can get since bigger companies are also not paying much now. My advise, don't switch until you gets a better offer since you are in a good position in your current company. It is not like no one is paying good, there are companies in the market which can give you better than your expectation.

A 18% hike in today's market.. It's like finding a rare Pokémon card in a dusty old box. It's not a bad offer but still you can explore other opportunities👍

I have a friend who faced the same I know an 18% hike might seem difficult. You might want to consider the overall package, including the role, team, and future growth opportunities.

18% hike that into a startup which is way too risky as it might go down if there is no further funding or investors are not willing to invest more due to loss or not doing well. So better wait for the next appraisal in your current company as 18% is not worth the change that to in a start up. If you get any good stable company then you can join. Minimum 30% is a must when you change companies.

18% hike for 5 rounds? That's too low for your experience. Startups should compensate better for the risks involved.

If your current company is well-settled and a promotion is in sight, I’d recommend staying put. The market isn’t great for risky moves...

The market is a bit slow right now. Startups are cautious with funding, so 18% might be their best offer.

In my opinion. Is there any option to revert back your resignation, in your current Org? If yes, then go for it? Accept the 18% hike, pen down your resignation, and during these 90days period, explore some other better options. If incase you dont get any other offer, worst case scenario, you have a fall back cushion of reverting back your resignation
