How to Deal with a Chatty Colleague?

Okay, so I have this colleague sitting right in front of me, and he doesn’t stop talking all day. I’ve tried putting on headphones, but this guy still waves his hands in front of my face like, “Oye Oye, ek baat sun !” Leaving my desk isn’t an option because my work would suffer, and there’s no extra space in the office to relocate. How do I politely deal with this without causing awkwardness or making it seem like I’m being rude?

Haha, headphones as a defense failed? Maybe try the classic 'one sec, I'm on a deadline!' excuse?

why not have a friendly conversation about boundaries? Something like, 'I need to focus for a bit, can we catch up later?

Omg, relatable AF...I once had a colleague like that. I ended up assigning them imaginary deadlines to keep them busy. Would that work here?

It's very easy just keep doing your work while he talks don't even look at him during convo and if conversation needs your response just ask him to repeat again 2-3 times. He will definitely get annoyed or get the hint and if he says please pay attention say sorry ... see more

Bro life is too short to keep listening to others bullshit , if its impacting your work ,made him understand the hard way which he wouldn’t have imagined. Sometimes you have to be brutal.

Pretend that you're on a call with someone. Put on earphones and speak something just to put a notion that you're on a call.

Why Do We Love WFH So Much?
Because: 1.We’d rather hang out with aging parents than office vending machines. 2. Our toddler is cuter than our cubicle neighbor (no offense to their questionable lunch smells). 3. We'd rather have dinner with our spouse than gossip with random flat mates about that one nosy landlord. 4. A weekend getaway with childhood friends > surviving rush hour for a team lunch. 5. Saving on fuel, rent, and overpriced sandwiches feels smarter than just surviving paycheck to paycheck. 6. Traffic jams aren’t fun, and meetings don’t require our physical presence just decent Wi-Fi. But alas, corporate reality insists on strict office check-ins while happily making us join 11 PM global calls from home. So, here’s the million-dollar question: If we deliver stellar work remotely, why does our location matter? It's not about productivity, is it? It's about clinging to old processes in the name of “culture.” Or maybe someone just really likes office coffee.

12LPA in Electrical Design industry after working for 9 years, wanting to earn more by shifting to bangalore from hyderabad or go abroad?
Hello. I need carrier advice, i have 9 years of experience in the electrical design (electrical engineering) industry with 12 LPA CTC. Married with 2 children. Age 33. Every month saving only 12 To 13k. Currently in hyderabad. I am barely making/saving it every month. My dilemma is should i continue as it is for the rest of life and pay tax every step/every spending OR take risk by going to gulf countries or USA or Australia. Which is the best path from here? ( The ultimate goal is to have a better quality of life with enough money to live a good life for more and my family in the near future)
