Help me choose!!
I recently received an offer from a small startup with fewer than 10 employees. They were founded just a year ago and are offering a competitive salary. However, the role requires working six days a week, which is a major concern. Currently, I work night shifts in US staffing, earning a decent salary with incentives. While this position provides financial benefits, the night shifts are detrimental to my health. I am also expecting an imminent increment in my current role. I am deeply uncertain about whether accepting the startup offer is the right decision.

Your health should be a priority, especially with night shifts affecting you. Do you think the startup's work schedule will be more manageable or worse for your health?🤔

Can you negotiate flexibility or a better work-life balance at the startup?

The six-day work week at the startup is definitely a concern. If the role offers better growth opportunities and work culture, it might be worth considering, but is it sustainable long-term?

Startups are very risky. You need to work a lot in startups and when there is no further funding you will be laid off. Don't fall into that trap. Better stick with your current company that will give you a good hike and focus on building skills and then get into another MNC at a very good package after taking this increment this month in the current company. Your health in the startup will become hell as they make you work a lot for what they pay you as they are always short on manpower to save money and make one person take on many responsibilities. Better stick with the current company and take that increment and then move into a good MNC with a good hike and always avoid startup if you care about the job safety and health.

Go for it!! Be courageous and confident to take challenges, at such a young age, you can work 24X7 (this is how your mindset should be), consider this startup as your own startup and believe me, you will learn things which no other job can teach you. If you are from a middle class family, you must have seen your parents, working tirelessly. What are you afraid of.. Nothing to loose here. The only thing required here is "Time Management" don't waste a single minute, use it in the best possible way.. Be on your toes boy.. Wish you the best.
