Colleague Secretly Recording Conversations?

So, there’s this guy in my office who likes to record all the meetings, fair enough, right? But here’s the twist I recently found out that he keeps his voice recorder on outside of meetings too, without asking anyone or even letting them know. It’s honestly kind of unsettling. Like, why would anyone do that? Shouldn’t there be some kind of rule or permission involved? What would you do if you were in this situation? Am I overthinking it, or is this seriously crossing the line?

I’d feel unsettled too! This could create an unhealthy environment. Definitely raise it with HR or your manager for clarification on the policy.

I agree, it’s a bit shady. If he’s recording without permission, it’s a grey area. I’d talk to HR about setting clear policies for this.

Yikes, that's unsettling. I think a lot of people would be uncomfortable with this. Definitely worth discussing with HR to set clear boundaries.

Wow that’s really sketchy Have you considered discussing it with your manager or HR?
Same person in my company too he call anyone on call and start talking about company rule and telling them it's wrong rule it's shud not be like this and when 2nd person also start talking same thing and say something more then this guy give this recording to senior management and say "mai to bas in k muh se nikalwa raha tha yeh log kya sochte hai or aap log dekho kya kya bol reha hai / rahi hai" My some of colleuges lost their job because of this person
