Career shift
Hi all, I’m 27
I hold bachelor degree in mechanical
Started my career as
Company1)Associate product compliance engineer (1.5years)
Used sap as an end user PO,Vendor details, BOM.
Company 2) Currently working as Project engineer (3years)
No SAP using in current company
Actually I’m thinking for career shift to sap mm
Is it good choice for me?!
Does my current experience counts?
Because I noticed to get interviews, candidates should hve atleast 4 yoe in sap mm
I don’t have relevant experience
But I used sap as an end user
, thn how can I shift my bf experience career towards sap mm consultant ? Help will be appreciated.

Bro, a direct shift to SAP MM consulting might be challenging due to the specific technical skills and domain knowledge required😅

SAP MM is overrated. You’ll be starting from scratch with no real experience. Stick to project management or engineering.

You’ve got a solid foundation. SAP MM is a strategic move, plenty of demand in industries like supply chain. If you’re willing to invest in learning, it could pay off big.

4 years of experience in SAP isn’t a hard rule. If you're proactive and network, you can land a role with less experience. SAP skills are worth the risk!

SAP MM is a safe bet long-term, but transitioning might take longer than you expect. You could face competition from candidates with more direct experience.

If you’re stuck in a job with no SAP exposure, go for it. The skills you gain in SAP will make you more marketable, even if it takes time to break into consulting.

End user experience doesn't count.
You have to start from scratch if you're going to make a career out of it.
Get an internship after doing courses and look for permanent opportunities.

Great move considering SAP MM! Have you looked into any certification programs to boost your profile?

You’re already familiar with SAP basics, which is a great start! Have you considered doing a technical SAP MM course to transition faster?
