ANJ Group - Kandivali office

want to share my troubling exp at my previous org. where my manager always sided with an illiterate supervisor creating a toxic environment where I felt powerless. I was expected to comply with everything the supervisor said, whether praise or criticism.Speaking up led to my manager shouting at me and humiliating me in front of others.Even being just 15 minutes late resulted in public shaming, while I was berated for staying lateI witnessed the supervisor abusing laborers, but when I raised my concern my manager dismissed saying I was taking it too personally. Instead of addressing the supervisor unacceptable behavior he chose to scold me perpetuating the cycle of abuse This treatment pushed me to confront everyone about their action leading to my manager complaining about me One heartbreaking moment came when I needed emergency leave for a seriously ill family member My manager initially granted permission but later denied it even saying “Dont take leave let your family member die.

I recently attended an interview for a social media manager and team lead role at ANJ, hoping it would be a productive, professional experience given my 10 years of expertise in social media marketing and brand awareness. But the interviewer, a senior from ANJ based in Delhi, completely derailed it. After every answer I gave, she relentlessly followed up with, “how, how, how,” as if I was in a never-ending trial to prove myself. I tried to stay patient, answering each question with as much detail as I could, but it felt like no answer was ever good enough for her. It was exasperating, to say the least. I even told her I couldn’t grasp the repetitive questioning approach—it felt pointless, almost like she was trying to poke holes where there were none. And this is the type of “extraordinarily educated” leadership they have evaluating potential hires? I could hardly believe it.

The way you were treated is a gross violation of your dignity and professional rights. Gosh! Such behavior is not only unethical but also illegal in many jurisdictions

I am working in a similar situation in Bangalore and in sales where if your sales target is not happening, you will be called on weekends so that your private times get spoiled, you will be called early morning so that your morning schedule get spoiled without any exercise. You will be humiliated in front of team members and your subordinates mentioning " how do you see yourself in the mirror", Aren't you ashamed. How do you sleep in the night. You are a fu** sh** and what not. Keeps threatening that the CEO will take your pants off and what not. I was in a very stable organisation and I made a terrible mistake my present organization, an FMCG company based out of Bangalore

Your manager's behavior was completely unacceptable and has undoubtedly caused you a lot of stress. Many people experience similar situations, and it's not your fault. The way you were treated was wrong, and you deserve better. I strongly recommend seeking legal advice to explore your options. An employment lawyer can help you understand your rights and determine the best course of action.
