an ux designer

Hey everyone, I recently left my job at a Mumbai-based startup, where I had the opportunity to work on multiple projects from the ground up. Over the past two years, I’ve gained solid experience in UX design and am now exploring better opportunities. My current CTC is around ₹5L/year, which I believe is already on the lower side. Based on my research and experience, I’ve been setting my expected salary at ₹8-10L. However, during discussions with potential employers, some have suggested that this range is unrealistic. Is my expectation unreasonable, or am I being undervalued? Would love to hear insights from others who’ve navigated similar transitions in the UX field!

Am i being under valued?

I would say ₹8-9L sounds fair for your experience. But have you had any face to face interviews yet?

Some startups might not be able to match your expectation but bigger companies should definitely offer better. whats the dream company for you?

Hii broo.. what kind of feedback did you get from employers about your salary expectations? Were they open to negotiating?

Your UX experience is valuable! Salaries vary by company and portfolio strength, so research benchmarks for similar roles. If ₹8-10L seems high to employers, try negotiating based on your skills and impact. Have you explored freelance work or contracts to bridge the gap?
