Job Description

Role & responsibilities : The Category Manager (Sell Side) will be responsible for managing and optimizing product categories to drive sales and enhance profitability. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, market insight, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of category strategies.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies that align with overall business objectives, focusing on sales growth, profitability, and market share.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of market trends and consumer behavior to inform category decisions and identify growth opportunities.
  • Sales Coordination: Collaborate with sales teams to optimize sales funnels, ensuring alignment between category management strategies and sales execution.
  • E-Commerce Oversight: Manage the online presence of product categories, including inventory management, product listings, and user experience enhancements to drive engagement and retention.
  • Campaign Management: Design and execute targeted marketing campaigns to promote product categories, utilizing CRM tools to track performance and generate leads.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for category performance, providing regular reports and insights to stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, merchandising, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of category initiatives and alignment on promotional activities.
  • Product Launches: Oversee the launch of new products within assigned categories, ensuring effective go-to-market strategies and alignment with customer needs.


Preferred candidate profile :

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience (for non-MBA) or 1.5 years+ (for MBA) in category management, business planning, or a related field, mandatorily in the e-commerce sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable strategies.
  • Proven experience in managing marketing campaigns and utilizing CRM tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices and market dynamics.
