In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow experience
  • At least 4 years of development experience within ServiceNow. Experience with ITSM, ITOM, Discovery, CMDB, Integration Hub, and/or Event Management modules a big plus.
  • At least 4 years of experience integrating ServiceNow with other systems via APIs and Integration Hub.

Job Expectations:

  • At least 4 years of experience with Flow Designer.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow functionality such as business rules, scripts, and Access Control List (ACL) rules.
  • Knowledge of business analysis processes and concepts.
  • Experience with Agile development processes and methodologies.
  • Experience working in a global setting.
  • Experience working with implementation partners and managed service providers.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Ability to successfully lead a team and drive the success of ServiceNow initiatives.
  • Proven ability to successfully work in a matrix team environment that presents significant change and tight timeframes.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and functionality as Morningstar expands our ServiceNow footprint.
  • Focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Technical Skills -
  • ServiceNow ITSM Knowledge: Understanding modules like Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Request Fulfillment. Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Monitoring SLA performance and ensuring adherence to timelines. Ticket Handling & Resolution: Creating, updating, and resolving tickets using ServiceNow.
  • Automation & AI Integration: Using ServiceNow Virtual Agent, Flow Designer, and AI features for automation. Service Catalog & Self-Service Portal: Managing service requests and designing catalog items.
  • Basic Scripting (JavaScript & Glide API): If required for advanced troubleshooting or customization. IT Asset Management (ITAM): Tracking IT assets and ensuring compliance.
  • 2. IT Service Management (ITSM) & Process Knowledge Incident & Problem Management: Handling major incidents and ensuring problem resolution. Change & Release Management: Managing change requests and deployments.
  • Configuration Management (CMDB): Understanding and managing the ServiceNow CMDB for asset tracking. Knowledge Management: Creating and maintaining knowledge articles.
  • 3. Soft Skills Customer Service & Communication: Clear and professional interaction with end-users and IT teams. Analytical & Troubleshooting Skills: Diagnosing issues and identifying root causes. Time Management & Prioritization: Managing multiple tickets efficiently. Collaboration & Teamwork: Working with different IT teams and departments.
  • Relevant Certifications for a ServiceNow Service Desk Job Profile -
  • 1. ServiceNow Certifications ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) Covers the fundamentals of ServiceNow, including user interface, configuration, and ticket management. (Required) ServiceNow IT Service Management (CIS-ITSM) Implementation Specialist Advanced certification covering ITSM processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management. (optional) ServiceNow Certified Application Specialist Virtual Agent Useful for AI-driven automation in Service Desk operations. (optional) ServiceNow Customer Service Management (CSM) Fundamentals If the role involves handling customer service cases in ServiceNow. (optional) ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) For professionals customizing and extending workspace functionalities using JavaScript, UI policies, and scripting. (optional)

No work life balance. Very short deadlines and need to meet targets. Working on weekends also well to meet the deadlines. Full of politics and can't even able to tolerate the team. Micro monitoring is too much from manager to lead level. Complete restriction over timings at team level.
