We are seeking an experienced Accounting GL (General Ledger) Module Lead to join our dynamic finance technology team. This position will primarily focus on the management of UAT (User Acceptance Testing), the migration of the bank's balance sheet, and ensuring the configuration and optimization of the General Ledger (GL) module. The ideal candidate will have in-depth domain knowledge of GL setup, accounting rules, and MIS (Management Information System) configuration, with a proven track record in leading testing activities and driving system integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
UAT & Migration:
- Lead the UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for the GL module, ensuring the final solution aligns with business requirements.
- Oversee the migration of the bank's balance sheet to the new GL system
- Coordinate with business stakeholders to ensure that the migration and UAT processes are completed on time and meet the desired outcomes.
GL Module Configuration:
- Provide expert knowledge in the setup and configuration of the GL module, including chart of accounts, accounting rules, cost centers, and other key GL elements.
- Ensure the alignment of GL accounting rules with the bank's financial policies and industry standards.
- Implement and manage the configuration of GL-related MIS (Management Information System) setups.
Testing Management:
- Manage end-to-end testing for the GL module, including creating detailed test plans, designing test cases, and overseeing execution.
- Drive the creation and management of test data to simulate real-world scenarios and ensure full system validation.
- Monitor the progress of testing activities, identify issues, and ensure timely resolution of defects or gaps.
Automation & Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for automation in the testing process to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
- Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks where appropriate.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure GL module requirements are met.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and business units to provide regular updates on testing progress, issues, and resolutions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in accounting systems and financial software, and apply best practices to enhance the GL module's functionality.
- Propose enhancements to improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of the GL module.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, CIMA) or relevant accounting certifications are a plus.
Experience:
- 6 to 10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or systems implementation with a focus on GL modules.
- Extensive experience in configuring and managing General Ledger setups and accounting rules.
- Hands-on experience with leading UAT and migration processes for GL systems.
- Proven experience in managing and executing testing activities, including test planning, data creation, and verification.
- Strong understanding of MIS (Management Information System) configuration for financial reporting and analysis.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with core banking systems, ERP, or financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials, or similar).
- Knowledge of automation tools and testing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and regulatory standards.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in banking or financial services industry.
- Familiarity with cloud-based financial systems or financial data migration strategies.
- Experience with Agile methodologies or project management certifications (e.g., PMP).
