Job Summary:

The Senior Extruder Operator in the luggage industry will be responsible for the operation and

optimization of extrusion machines used in the production of plastic components and materials for

luggage products. This role requires advanced expertise in extrusion processes, including machine

setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and ensuring product quality. The Senior Extruder Operator

will also lead and mentor junior operators, manage production efficiency, and work closely with

other departments to meet production goals and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Extruder Machine Operation:

• Operate and monitor extrusion machines to produce plastic components used in

luggage production, such as handles, frames, shells, and other accessories.

• Adjust machine settings, including temperature, pressure, and feed rates, to ensure

the extrusion process produces high-quality, defect-free components.

• Monitor the extrusion process for consistency, maintaining desired thickness, color,

texture, and structural integrity of materials.

2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Perform routine maintenance on extrusion machines, including cleaning, lubrication,

and inspecting parts for wear and tear.

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or operational issues and promptly resolve

them to minimize downtime and production delays.

• Work with the maintenance team to address complex machine breakdowns and

implement preventive maintenance schedules.

3. Quality Control and Inspection:

• Conduct regular quality checks on extruded materials to ensure compliance with

design specifications, tolerances, and industry standards.

• Inspect and measure extruded components for consistency, thickness, and

durability, ensuring they meet luggage product specifications.

• Work with the quality control team to resolve quality issues and implement

corrective actions to prevent defects in the final products.

4. Team Leadership and Training:

• Lead, mentor, and provide guidance to junior extrusion operators to ensure they

understand machine operation, safety protocols, and quality standards.

• Provide on-the-job training for new operators, helping them develop their technical

skills and understanding of the extrusion process.

• Monitor the performance of the team, ensuring that operators are following

procedures and contributing to production goals.

5. Production Planning and Efficiency:

• Collaborate with production planners and supervisors to develop and adjust daily,

weekly, and monthly production schedules based on demand and machine capacity.

• Optimize machine settings and material usage to reduce waste and improve

production efficiency.

• Track production metrics, such as output rates, material consumption, and machine

performance, to meet production targets.

6. Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all company safety protocols and industry regulations regarding the

operation of extrusion machinery and handling of materials.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that safety standards

are consistently met.

• Conduct safety checks and participate in regular safety training to mitigate

workplace hazards.

7. Collaboration and Reporting:

• Work closely with other departments, such as design, assembly, and packaging, to

ensure smooth integration of extruded components into the final luggage products.

• Provide regular updates to production management on machine performance,

production progress, and any issues requiring attention.

• Maintain accurate production logs, including details of machine settings, downtime,
