Marketing Head

Job Summary

The Marketing Head is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives to drive brand growth, market share, and customer engagement. This leadership role involves overseeing all marketing functions, including brand management, digital marketing, trade marketing, market research, and product innovation, while aligning marketing strategies with the companys business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Marketing Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve business objectives, including revenue growth and market share expansion.
  • Align marketing initiatives with corporate goals, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
  • Define annual marketing budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources across campaigns and projects.

2. Brand Management

  • Oversee the development, positioning, and execution of brand strategies for all product categories.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels to maintain strong brand equity.
  • Monitor and enhance brand performance through innovative campaigns and customer-focused initiatives.

3. Product and Category Management

  • Lead the development and launch of new products, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer preferences.
  • Oversee product pricing, positioning, and lifecycle management to maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sales, and Operations) for successful product launches.

4. Digital Marketing and Communications

  • Drive digital transformation by leveraging online platforms, social media, and e-commerce channels.
  • Oversee content creation, online advertising, SEO/SEM, and performance marketing strategies.
  • Manage external communications, including PR, media relations, and influencer partnerships.

5. Trade Marketing

  • Collaborate with sales teams to design and execute trade marketing campaigns that drive in-store visibility and sales.
  • Develop strategies for retail promotions, product displays, and point-of-sale marketing materials.
  • Track the effectiveness of trade marketing initiatives and optimize for future campaigns.

6. Market Research and Analytics

  • Conduct market research to gather insights on customer behavior, preferences, and competitive trends.
  • Use data-driven analysis to assess the effectiveness of marketing strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Present regular reports on marketing performance and ROI to senior management.

7. Leadership and Team Development

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing marketing team.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and accountability within the marketing department.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Expertise in brand management, digital marketing, and trade marketing within the FMCG sector.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in marketing tools, CRM platforms, and data analytics software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA in Marketing is highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including leadership roles in the FMCG industry.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful marketing campaigns and driving business growth.

  • Achievement of marketing ROI and business growth targets.
  • Improvement in brand awareness, equity, and market share.
  • Successful product launches and campaign effectiveness.
  • Engagement levels across digital and traditional marketing channels.
