Job Description:


As the HR specialist for the Apprenticeship Program, you will oversee all aspects of the program from onboarding to development, and ultimately transition to full-time employment. You will be responsible for managing the apprentice lifecycle, ensuring program success, maintaining compliance with legal standards, and contributing to the company's strategic workforce planning. This is a key role for a highly organized and passionate individual who thrives in a dynamic, developmental environment.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Recruitment & Onboarding:
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as educational institutions and job boards, to source apprentices.
  • Manage the onboarding process, ensuring apprentices have a positive start and receive necessary training materials and introductions.



  • Program Management:
  • Coordinate and monitor the day-to-day operations of the apprenticeship program, ensuring timely execution and program objectives are met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for apprentices, mentors, and internal stakeholders throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Provide ongoing support to apprentices, helping them navigate challenges and maximize their professional growth.



  • Training & Development:
  • Partner with relevant departments to ensure that apprentices are receiving appropriate training and development opportunities.
  • Work closely with mentors to assess apprentice performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor apprentice progress, track key performance indicators, and recommend improvements or changes as necessary.



  • Compliance & Reporting:
  • Ensure that the apprenticeship program adheres to all legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Keep detailed records of apprentice progress, attendance, and performance, ensuring accurate documentation for internal and external reporting.
  • Prepare regular reports on program outcomes, including metrics such as retention rates, completion rates, and the success of transitioning apprentices to permanent roles.



  • Employee Engagement & Retention:
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment that encourages apprentice engagement, motivation, and professional growth.
  • Organize feedback sessions, surveys, and other methods to assess apprentice satisfaction and gather input for program improvements.



  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with department heads and hiring managers to identify future staffing needs and ensure the apprenticeship program aligns with the organizations talent strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external training providers, educational institutions, and industry networks to stay current on best practices and evolving trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in apprenticeship, talent development, or similar programs.
  • Strong knowledge of workforce development, apprenticeship models, and talent acquisition best practices.
  • Experience with compliance requirements related to apprenticeship programs and employee training.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in HR software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with apprenticeship programs in a manufacturing, trade, or technical field.
