Head - Accounts & Finance

Job Summary:

The Head of Accounts & Finance will be responsible for overseeing the financial health and strategic financial planning of the real estate organization. This role involves managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, driving financial performance, and contributing to the overall strategic direction of the business. The role also entails liaising with investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to support the companys growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Strategy:

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organizations goals.
• Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to guide strategic decision-making.

Accounting and Compliance:

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in compliance with applicable laws and standards.
• Supervise the preparation of financial statements, tax filings, and regulatory reports.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard the organizations assets and ensure compliance.

Taxation and GST Management:

• Ensure timely and accurate calculation, filing, and payment of direct and indirect taxes, including GST, TDS, and corporate taxes.
• Oversee GST reconciliations and returns, ensuring compliance with evolving GST laws and provisions.
• Handle tax assessments, disputes, and liaison with tax authorities for direct and indirect tax matters.
• Monitor updates in tax laws and implement changes in organizational processes accordingly.
• Optimize tax planning and identify opportunities for tax savings within legal frameworks.

Cash Flow and Fund Management:

• Manage cash flow, treasury operations, and working capital to maintain financial stability.
• Oversee the procurement of project financing and managing relationships with banks and financial institutions.

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Develop and manage departmental KPIs and ensure the team achieves set objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with senior management, board members, and investors to discuss financial performance and strategies.
• Represent the company in financial discussions with external stakeholders, including regulators and auditors.

Technology and Process Improvement:

• Oversee the implementation of financial management systems and ERP platforms.
• Streamline accounting and financial processes to enhance efficiency.

Requirement

• Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or MBA in Finance from a reputed institution.
• 12+ years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the real estate industry.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale real estate projects or portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and real estate finance.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, project feasibility studies, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
