This role involves creating scalable, secure, and efficient database systems while ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and compliance with industry standards. The Database Architect will work closely with developers, operations teams, and business stakeholders to deliver robust database architectures. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: 1. Database Architecture and Design: ? Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performing database architectures for business-critical applications. ? Define database strategies, standards, and best practices for AWS RDS, MongoDB, and Postgres. ? Develop detailed data models, schema designs, and database configurations tailored to business needs. 2. Implementation and Deployment: ? Lead the deployment and configuration of databases in cloud environments, focusing on AWS RDS, MongoDB, and Postgres. ? Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for mission-critical databases. ? Migrate legacy databases to modern platforms like AWS RDS or Postgres. 3. Performance Optimization: ? Monitor database performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks to optimize system efficiency. ? Implement indexing, caching, and query optimization techniques for improved database performance. ? Regularly analyze system usage patterns to ensure scalability and reliability. 4. Security and Compliance: ? Implement database security measures, including encryption, role-based access control (RBAC), and auditing. ? Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and corporate security policies. ? Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to protect sensitive data. 5. Collaboration and Support: ? Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure seamless database integration with applications. ? Provide technical expertise and mentorship to database administrators and junior team members. ? Collaborate with cloud architects to align database architectures with broader cloud strategies. 6. Research and Innovation: ? Stay updated on emerging database technologies, trends, and best practices. ? Evaluate and recommend modern database tools and services to enhance organizational capabilities. ? Pilot and implement innovative solutions to improve database scalability, availability, and resilience. ________________________________________ Skills and Qualifications: 1. Education: ? Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master?s degree is preferred. 2. Experience: ? 12+ years of experience in database architecture, design, and management. ? Hands-on expertise with AWS RDS, MongoDB, and Postgres in production environments. ? Experience in database migration, optimization, and performance tuning for large-scale systems. 3. Technical Skills: ? Proficiency in database programming (e.g., PL/pgSQL, T-SQL, or equivalent). ? Strong understanding of cloud database services, including AWS RDS and its features (e.g., Multi-AZ, read replicas). ? Expertise in NoSQL databases like MongoDB, including clustering and sharding. ? Deep knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), especially Postgres. ? Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. ? Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and database version control. 4. Certifications (Preferred): ? AWS Certified Database ? Specialty ? MongoDB Certified DBA Associate ?
