Insurance Coordinator

Role & responsibilities

The key responsibilities will include the following:

As a Wind and Solar Insurance Coordinator, he/she will be responsible for managing and coordinating insurance-related activities for wind and solar energy in construction and operational projects. This role involves working closely with site engineers, insurance consultant, insurance surveyors, insurance company, internal finance team and O&M contractors and other stakeholders to expedite insurance claim. Also, ensure that renewable energy projects are adequately insured against potential risks.

Detailed Work Responsibility:

Claim Management:

• Facilitate claim in case of event of loss and damage which is claimable under insurance policy.
• Ensure claims documents are timely submitted to insurance consultant after verifying documents, ensure quality and authenticity of documents before submission.
• Maintain tracker of claims, ensure closure of each claim in time bound manner.
• Ensure RCA documents for submission are in line with insurance claim requirement.
• Has solid understanding about insurance claim process in wind and solar construction and operational project.

Insurance Policy Management:

• Maintain insurance policy tracker, renewal of policy.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend insurance policies suitable for wind and solar energy projects.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to renewable energy insurance.
• Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage budgets related to insurance premiums and risk management activities.
• Monitor and analyze insurance-related expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Risk Assessment:

• Conduct risk assessments for wind and solar projects to identify potential vulnerabilities.
• Work closely with project and O&M teams to understand project specifications and assess insurance needs.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and collaborate with relevant departments to implement preventive measures.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in insurance claim in wind and solar project and O&M.
• Previous experience in insurance coordination, risk management, or a similar role, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
• Strong understanding of insurance policies, risk assessment, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Read to move/travel in PAN India O&M/Project sites
