Job Description

IHW Council is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Event Sales Head to lead our event sales strategy across multiple verticals including delegate sales, sponsorship sales, and space sales. This leadership role demands a strategic thinker with a strong track record in event-related sales, and an ability to drive revenue growth through client acquisition, relationship management, and sales innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Event Sales Strategy Development:
    • Lead and execute a comprehensive event sales strategy to drive revenue across delegate sales, sponsorships, and space sales.
    • Develop targeted sales campaigns and sales pipelines, aligning with organizational goals and event objectives.
  2. Delegate Sales:
    • Oversee delegate sales efforts, ensuring strong ticket sales for conferences, summits, and other IHW Council events.
    • Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, associations, and individuals to secure delegate participation.
    • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the delegate experience, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
  3. Sponsorship Sales:
    • Drive sponsorship sales by identifying, prospecting, and securing sponsors for events.
    • Develop customized sponsorship packages to meet client needs, maximize event exposure, and ensure sponsor satisfaction.
    • Manage relationships with sponsors, ensuring the successful activation of sponsorship commitments.
  4. Space Sales:
    • Oversee the sales of event spaces, including exhibition booths, venue spaces, and any other areas tied to IHW Council events.
    • Work closely with the event operations team to ensure that space requirements are effectively communicated and executed.
    • Ensure the effective promotion of event spaces to relevant exhibitors and vendors.
  5. Sales Leadership & Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor the sales team, setting clear performance goals, providing regular training, and fostering a results-driven environment.
    • Monitor team performance and provide support for achieving sales targets.
    • Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, operations, and content to ensure the alignment of sales goals with event objectives.
  6. Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, sponsors, exhibitors, and other stakeholders.
    • Act as the main point of contact for top-tier clients and partners, ensuring smooth communication and relationship building.
    • Ensure client satisfaction to secure long-term partnerships and repeat business.
  7. Sales Reporting & Analysis:
    • Track and report on sales activities, performance metrics, and revenue targets.
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and event performance to refine sales strategies.
    • Provide detailed forecasts and sales reports to senior management.
  8. Market Research & Competitive Insight:
    • Conduct research on industry trends, competitive offerings, and potential new sales channels.
    • Stay current with changes in the event industry, exploring innovative ways to attract new clients, delegates, sponsors, and exhibitors.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of event sales experience, with proven success in delegate sales, sponsorship sales, and space sales.
  • Skills:
    • Strong sales leadership abilities with experience managing teams.
    • Expertise in event sales strategy, including revenue generation and client acquisition.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficient in CRM tools and sales reporting.
