OPD Manager

The hospital OPD manager is responsible for the achievement of the departmental objectives & goals.

• Responsible for OPD cash & credit billing.
• Responsible for the appointment scheduling for the different consultants.
• Responsible to check the doctors comfortable working conditions in the OPD area.
• Responsible to collect the OPD feedback forms, analyze and submit it to the higher authority with suggestions.
• Responsible to deal with the complicated issues and report to Manager.
• Responsible to meet and greet patients, consultant and visitors to the practice in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Responsible to direct patients to the appropriate professional.
• Responsible to fix appointments / consultation with doctors / consultant for patients, visitor, M.R. etc.
• The Manager OPD provides leadership & oversight for the staff and coordination between the departments
• Filing of medical notes, letters, test results and other correspondence
• Comply with all in house and statutory Health & Safety procedures
• Responsible to ensure timely submission of quality indicators data to Quality Department for further analysis.
• Responsible to attend all the relevant committee meetings and ensure follow up & closure of observations related to his/her concerned department.
• Supervision and implementation of all aspects described in manual for continuous improvement of the department
• Responsible to review and update the manual on yearly basis and get revisions approved by concerned authorities
• Attend daily morning meetings
• Attend training courses in house and externally to develop expertise and further knowledge
• Check all things in the OPD are in the proper place.
• Responsible for duty roster & handover process.
• Guide the patient to the payment counter to make the case paper.
• Responsible for OP to IP conversions.
• Responsible for daily prescription audit to monitor prescription bounce.
• Responsible for training & development of front office staff.
• Supervision of call center
• Responsible for OPD schedules & OPD room utilization
• Responsible to track & generate OPD revenue from diagnostics (Lab/Radiology).
• Making daily, weekly, Monthly & annually reporting to the management.
• Responsible for the appointment system
• Responsible to work for doctor satisfaction & relation building
• Responsible to track new patient visits & vaccination tracker of newborns
• Responsible to maintain OPD records
• NABH adherence & QIP’s to be initiated
