Job Description

Company: One of Largest Textile and Apparel Retail Company

Role: Regional Head - YARN Exports, Wool Sales & Marketing.

The key market will be Europe.

Location: near Kolkata Airport

Must have experience in:

1. Must have done Exports in Textiles category (YARN experience is MUST)

2. Minimum 10 years Exp overall and MUST have 5 years plus in textiles

Location: near Kolkata Airport.

Office timings & days: Monday to Saturday 09:30 to 06:30 with 2nd & 3rd Saturdays off.

Job description:

Job Role: Regional Head - Exports, Wool Sales & Marketing.

The key market will be Europe.

Job Purpose:

- To handle complete knit yarn sales business for Textiles, Worsted Division

- To meet Top & Bottom Line budgeted target for Knit YARN sale.

- To grow the Business by retaining existing customer & generating new customer base,

- To develop new Geography /Territory to expand the business,

- Continuously enrich product-mix through increased share of VAP, new product development and formulating marketing plan for the same

Job Context:

The strategic business model adopted is optimizing product & service level by leveraging on strength & capability to offer international standard worsted spun yarns through seamless working, improve profitability through sale of customized YARN and increase share of value-added yarns in the product-mix, the focus is on constant, intense exploration of both domestic and overseas markets and enrich product-mix through new products for expanding the customer base and achieve profitable growth.

Challenges :

- Service diverse customer bank and geographical spread starting from small unorganized customer of Hand flat Knitter to International top level brand like M&S, UK,Crrefoure, Tesco UK Aldi &Lidle Germany, Devold Norway, etc to achieve customer delight

- Ensure balanced (coarse, medium & fine yarn count groups as per plant capability & maximum output possible) advance presold yarn orders although geographically located at 4 to 6 weeks away from major markets and lead time is the prime deciding factor in today's fast-changing fashion world

- Retain profitability despite rapidly increasing costs compared to competition.

- Combat against widely fluctuating raw material price and volatile currency.

- Continue growth in top and bottom line despite no increase in manufacturing capacity.

- Achieve growth in knit yarn business which is major driver for EBIDTA growth in the environment of various constraints right from raw material (availability of TEC wool, essential component of such yarn), technical knowhow (only spinner in India for such yarn), distance from market (lead time is one of the most important determining factor and we are 30 days behind China, the major player in the segment), manufacturing bottleneck (non-availability of sufficient capacity during peak time), etc.

- Drive new product development for enriching product-mix although copied by competition in short time and eating up the premium.

- Drive quality benchmarking and product quality improvement to International standards

Key Result Areas:

KRA (Accountabilities) Supporting Actions:

- To meet the budgeted Sales Revenue : To secure the maximum order as per budgeted or above efficiency

- To Increase the Knit yarn VAP sales : To get the maximum possible order in Knit yarn coarse count. In other count with 25% higher profitability against budget.

- To keep NWC as per budget: Secure the order, manufacture it as per agreed time line & dispatch it as per agreed schedule. It will help to reduce the inventory cost & keep NWC as per Budget.

- Over Due ( UGAI) as per Budget : To secure the maximum possible order against advance payment, payment before dispatch. In case of Credit collection need to done as specified credit time line.

- Enrich product-mix through continuous new product development and formulating marketing plan for the same.


- Proactive product development.

- Monitoring customer's Feedback to support product development process.

- Launching new products into markets.

- Developing new markets for extended reach and customer base.

- New Business Expansion : To develop new customer base to generate new business.

- Identify new opportunities to explore further growth in existing activity and propose growth plan in new activity.


- Regular interaction with customers.

- Keep watch on international top grade spinners.

- Periodic visit of markets.
