JOB PURPOSE
The person will lead the category in the areas of merchandising and procurement department to develop an aggressively growing business. Drive sales through program development, branding, product mix, promotions, private and national label programs, special buys and member relationship management. Must maintain proven results in buying and/or merchandising and have the vision to create future programs for our success.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for category sales targets as per the Annual plan and achievement of margins and profitability in both Stores and Online Business.
Create a strong and aspirational brand identity in coordination with marketing function.
• Develop revenue-generating cross marketing partners and strategies for the Online website.
• Initiate and plan strategic initiatives (promos, festivals, discounts, etc.) to ensure sales and margin plan is met
• Create overall promo plan for execution handover to MM (Vendors)
• Plan for visibility - sales target and RGM • Scout for local, regional and national vendors
• Active scouting for new product introduction with support from RMO
• ToT and price negotiation
• Provide clear and timely communication to ensure all teams under the role are aligned towards a shared vision and a common goal.
• Share information cross-vertical and cross channel to meet the Business objective.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate or Masters In Business Administration/ Retail Management
SPECIFIC PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (if any)

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
• 8 to 18 years domain experience in Retail category Management.
• Preferably from Retail/ Ecom Grocery industry
