Head - Legal & Compliances - Manufacturing Industry (18-25 yrs)

A leading engineering conglomerate operating in India and close to 40 international markets. A respected brand and a listed company, our client seeks a an incumbent for Head - Legal & Compliances. Person will ensure that the company's activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, mitigate legal risks, and provide strategic legal advice to senior management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, contract negotiation, litigation management, and regulatory compliance within the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

- Legal Compliance: Ensure that the company complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to manufacturing operations in India, including labor laws, environmental regulations, taxation, and corporate governance.

- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, distribution agreements, licensing agreements, and employment contracts. Ensure that contracts align with the company's objectives and mitigate legal risks.

- Litigation Management: Manage all legal disputes, litigation, and claims involving the company. Work closely with external legal counsel to develop strategies for dispute resolution, settlement negotiations, and litigation defense.

- Intellectual Property Protection: Develop and implement strategies to protect the company's intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, and trade secrets. Monitor for potential infringement and take appropriate legal action when necessary.

- Regulatory Affairs: Stay updated on changes in regulatory requirements affecting the manufacturing industry in India. Advise senior management on compliance strategies and potential regulatory risks.

- Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and best practices. Oversee the preparation of board resolutions, corporate filings, and other legal documents required for corporate governance purposes.

- Risk Management: Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities and propose risk mitigation strategies. Provide guidance to management on risk management practices and policies.

- Legal Advice and Training: Provide proactive legal advice and guidance to senior management and other departments within the organization. Conduct training sessions to educate employees on legal issues relevant to their roles.

- Legal Matters of Promoter: Handling and coordinating the legal matters of Promoter in respective courts through legal councils.
