Key skills for the job
We are looking for an Experienced Head of Finance & Accounts who understands retail, who can plan Financial Strategy, Budgeting and dive into the details of Accounts. It is a very crucial role for the company, we are looking for someone who understands day to day accounting, also can look after fund raising, banking operations and budget controls.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader since all relative departments of the organization will be under their command. The goal is to protect the company's revenues and profits to achieve full financial control and sustainable growth.
Role & responsibilities
1. Manage the team of Accountants, Audit executives, Sr Financial Experts to perform the day to day finance and accounting activities like fund flow management, sales reconciliation, BRS, CRS, etc
2. Make a budget for all Operational Expenses, Vendor Payments, Debts, other expenses month and month and help the sales teams to plan their revenue targets to meet the expenses and targeted profits
3. Understand store level EBITAs, understand store level expenses, revenues, profitability and how we can cover up losses in any particular stores
4. Dive deep into compliance management from GST Returns, TDS, Income Tax filings, HR Compliances, etc and ensure they are paid on time, plan funds for the same
5. Raise investments through proper project planning from various financial institutions wherever required
6. Study the Financial reports of the company on a day to day basis, understand the Analytics if the company is going on a profitable track, correct it wherever needed, control the expenses and ensure profitability
7. Come with the Financial goals of the company every quarter wise, working in detail with various teams to arrive at the same
8. Work with Financial experts like External Auditors, CAs on a day to day basis
9. Work with Vendors wherever required, forge good relationships with them
10. Publish monthly outstanding reports, Vendor reconciliations, sales reconciliations and other financial reports to the Management
11. Work on effect cost cutting mechanisms wherever required.
12. Implement effective cash flow management systems at store and HO Levels
13. Implement financial fraud prevention SOPs at store levels and HO levels
14. Study the Finance & Accounting SOPs of the company, and implement the same at every level to avoid any hinderances to day to day operations and ease of Finance Management
15. Be a good leader and train your team, help them gain the required key skills for their roles
16. Prepare forecasting reports to be prepared and well planned for future financial planning
17. Take complete control of Cash Flow Management and ensure smooth operations as per the plan decided by the Management
18. Hire the team wherever required in your team
Preferred candidate profile
1. Experience in Retail is preferred
2. We are looking for someone who has handled similar profile of handling multiple stores
3. Able to handle a big team of Accountants, Managers, Cashiers, Auditors, executives
4. In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
5. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
6. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP)
7. Ability to strategize and solve problems
8. Strong leadership and organizational skills
9. Excellent communication and people skills
10. An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
