Contracts Engineer / Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Contracts Manager to oversee the contractual aspects of our high-rise construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of construction contracts, risk management, and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, analyze, and negotiate complex construction contracts, including FIDIC, AIA, and bespoke contracts.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and liabilities.
• Ensure contract terms align with project objectives and company policies.
• Administer contracts, monitor performance, and enforce contractual obligations.
• Manage change orders, variations, and extensions of time.
• Prepare and issue notices, claims, and variations.
• Identify and resolve contract disputes through negotiation, mediation, or arbitration.
• Prepare and present claims and counterclaims.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, if necessary.
• Identify and assess contractual risks.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and control contract risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor contract costs and ensure timely payments.
• Prepare and review payment certificates and final accounts.
• Manage contract variations and claims to minimize cost impacts.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in contract management within the construction industry, with a focus on high-rise projects.
• In-depth knowledge of FIDIC, AIA, and other standard construction contracts.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in contract management software (e.g., Procore, Aconex).
