In this opportunity as Senior Director-Technology , you will:
Thomson Reuters is a leading provider of cloud-based enterprise collaboration and publishing software. Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing, developing, and operating successful and complex enterprise grade products.
  • Strong software architecture and design skills, with focus on distributed systems and scalability.
  • Excellent leadership and people management abilities. Must have led a team of 50+ team members for at least 2+ years and worked with cross functional teams spanning the organization.
  • Excellent programming skills in Java, Spring, Springboot, SQL Server or any Relational Database and Microservices.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful web services.
  • DevOps mindset with experience in CI/CD pipeline automation and Test Automation.
  • Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with strong emphasis on Agile development and SCRUM.
  • Strong written, communication and presentation skills. Able to respond and present work to peers, answer in-depth questions, accept constructive feedback, and modify work product accordingly.
  • Can-do attitude and a willingness to take ownership of problems, strong desire to learn and grow.
About You
  • 18+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and product development.
  • B.Tech/M.Tech in computer science or equivalent
  • Java, Spring, Springboot, Microservices, Cloud-native development, DevOps, CI/CD, Test Automation
  • 5+ years of experience leading a large engineering organization with interdependent teams.
  • Software development frameworks (preferably Spring and Springboot).
  • Cloud-native development, Python
  • Operating Kubernetes-based containerized environments.
  • Highly scalable distributed transactional systems
  • Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) etc
  • Lead a large team of software engineers, tech/team leads and development managers to deliver our roadmap, support our customers, secure our solutions, and take its scale, availability, and performance to newer heights.
  • A solid understanding of content processing systems, including their workflows, components, and common issues. This could include experience with content management systems, DMS, or other relevant technologies.
  • Lead the transformation journey from current legacy content systems to future modernized system through latest technological adaptation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, product management teams and other internal stakeholders and customers to define our product technology strategy.
  • Incorporate innovative technologies (eg, Cloud-native development, Migration of Monolithic to Microservices architecture, Machine Learning, Test-Driven Development etc) to address complex customer needs.
  • Continuously measure and improve engineering maturity.
  • Continuously improve agile delivery, velocity, and quality across several integrated teams.
  • Lead capacity planning, resource/cost forecasting and distribution.
  • Hire, mentor, retain and grow the best talent!
  • Assess and recommend improvements to the organizations structure, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Mentor, counselling, assisting employees in establishing their career development and training plans.
  • Remove roadblocks to delivery execution and improve collaboration across different teams and functions
  • Specifies and designs large or complex systems. Selects appropriate design standards, methods, and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively.
  • Evaluates and undertakes impact analysis on major design options and assesses and manages associated risks. Ensures that the system design balances functional, service quality, security, and systems management requirements.
  • Reviews others systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology. Contributes to policy for selection of architecture components.
  • Sets local or team-based standards for programming tools and techniques, including security guidelines, and the selection of appropriate development methods.
  • Advises on application of standards and methods and ensures compliance. Takes technical responsibility for all stages and/or iterations in a software development project, providing method specific technical advice and guidance to project stakeholders.
  • Assigns work packages, monitors performance, and manages change control dynamically, to optimize productivity. Provides advice, guidance, and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.
  • Learn and display as how products would add value to respective business.
  • Ensure top quality design reviews attaining business goals.
  • Supervise resource allocation to assure attainment of apt business and personnel development goals.
  • provide deep software development knowledge with respect cloud architecture design patterns and programming
  • Prepare lifecycle for different projects inclusive of research, development, design, evaluation, testing along with delivery to product management.
  • Develop relations with existing and prospective internal customers to interpret all individual requirements.
