I applied via Campus Placement and was interviewed before Sep 2023. There were 2 interview rounds.

Round 1 - Aptitude Test

Basic maths (numbers, percentages), and logical reasoning questions that you usually find in entry level MBA exam preparations.

Round 2 - Assignment

You would be asked to write a tight news story from a given set of information or piece. There could also be questions on how you judge news by their importance.

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - On the last stage of the job process, when you are being interviewed one-on-one with the editors:
- You are being interviewed for the role of a correspondent. So, be prepared with what's going on around you and the world. Be thorough with the global happenings, since Reuters is a global news organization and that's what will earn you a place here- think big.

- That being said, you still have to have a know-how of the market you are being interviewed for. Say for example, it's the Indian stock market that you are going to cover. You must be aware of the top things happening currently in the Indian private sector- what are the largest events (risks, opportunities etc) in the market, any fiasco's going on?, any demand-supply issues? etc.

- You might be asked questions related to real-life scenarios within the workplace such as an altercation with a colleague over a story, or you getting to know that there is someone in your newsroom who is copying news from other outlets. You will be asked such questions to test your professional ethics as well as moral compass. Don't lean too much on this side of professionalism that you forget the humane-ness of humans. Have a balance of professional, friendly and humane approach to such questions.

- Lastly, be honest. The people interviewing you are experts in their own field of reporting and you can't fool them. If you don't know something, just say it politely. However, this is thin ice. Use brains ofcourse.
