Director Data Engineering GCP

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of healthcare data solutions on GCP utilizing FHIR standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define data engineering objectives aligned with business goals.
• Design and implement scalable and reliable data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and analysis of healthcare data.
• Develop data models and schemas to support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analytics.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data regulations, including HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant standards.
• Implement data security best practices to protect sensitive healthcare information.
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth and development.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in healthcare data interoperability and cloud computing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on healthcare data management.
• 5+ years experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage.
• Strong understanding of Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards and their application in healthcare data exchange is preferred.
• Experience designing and implementing data pipelines using modern ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other programming languages commonly used in data engineering.
• Knowledge of healthcare data regulations and best practices, such as HIPAA, GDPR, standards.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Leadership experience, with a track record of successfully leading and mentoring a team of data engineers.
