As a business application consulting generalist at PwC, you will provide consulting services for a wide range of business applications. You will leverage a broad understanding of various software solutions to assist clients in optimising operational efficiency through analysis, implementation, training, and support.

Responsibilities
1. Database Development
1.1 Design and develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
1.2 Optimize database objects and queries for performance and scalability.
2. Data Modeling
2.1 Design and implement normalized and denormalized database structures.
2.2 Collaborate with business analysts to gather requirements and create ER diagrams.
3. Performance Tuning
3.1 Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues.
3.2 Apply indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques.
4. Database Administration Support
4.1 Collaborate with DBAs to manage backups, migrations, and database security.
4.2 Assist in database version upgrades and deployment processes.
5. Collaboration
5.1 Work with application developers to support databasedriven functionalities.
5.2 Provide technical guidance and best practices for database design and usage.
Mandatory skill sets
Proficiency in SQL and experience with one or more relational database systems (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle).
Handson experience with database performance tuning and query optimization.
Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
Preferred skill sets
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git).
Experience with reporting tools (e.g. Tableau) is a plus.
Knowledge of cloudbased database solutions (e.g. Azure SQL, etc.) is a bonus.
