Role & responsibilities

Senior Associate US Chief Data Office – Standards & Policies The Standards & Policies Team is a critical part of the US Chief Data Office (US CDO) organization, delivering strategic and operational support for the firm’s responsible use of data.  The team develops policies and standards aligned to leading practices, provides consultation and advice at the practice and solution team level, and creates supporting documents such as refined process maps and data taxonomies.  As a Senior Associate, you will support the strategic priorities of the US CDO as a whole and be an advocate for using data responsibly and effectively.  You will have opportunities to collaborate within the US CDO and with colleagues in related functions.  You will be primarily responsible for carrying out three functions of the team: first and foremost, you will collaborate with onshore and AC colleagues to process-map, refine, and improve US CDO capabilities.  You will also support development and refinement of data taxonomies (for example, those mapping personal data attributes governed by external regulations or illustrating how different US firm cost centers relate to one another).  Finally, time permitting, you will work with many US CDO colleagues to triage new data requests and maintain institutional knowledge on how US CDO responds to business demand. 
Preferred Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrates strong abilities and/or a proven record of success supporting a data governance program and serving customer needs by: 

• Successfully developing and refining process maps with subject matter specialists (SMSs) in data governance and data management disciplines; 
• Producing well-formatted, comprehensive, useful process maps using Visio, Miro, and comparable tools; 
• Developing and maintaining taxonomies and comparable detailed records of institutional knowledge; 
• Adeptly managing a portfolio of inquiries or cases; 
• Managing contributions from project stakeholders from multiple disciplines in a complex or matrix organization; 
• Possessing a basic understanding of leading data governance/information management practices; 
• Building ongoing rapport and trust with colleagues of various professional backgrounds and levels of seniority; and 
• Flexibly prioritizing a diverse set of tasks and projects as well as seeking managers’ input and escalating issues in a timely way.
