Manager Ground Operations

1.1 Fuel Operations

• Managing the fuel operations on a day to day basis.
• Ensuring that fuels are supplied in accordance with the Supply Organization Exposition.
• Continued liaison with CASA regulatory requirements and ensuring regulatory approvals remain valid.
• Liaison with CASA on any matters relating to the companys supply activities and scope of approval.
• In co-ordination with the CEO, provision of sound financial resources to support all supply activity.
• Provision of adequate facilities, equipment, tools, publications and materials for the conduct of supply activities.
• Training of personnel.
• Ensure senior persons transfer responsibilities during periods of absence.
• Implementing any corrective actions resulting from internal and external audits.
• Ensuring that PNGGS has sufficient personnel to plan, perform, supervise, and inspect its supply activities.
• Ensuring the companys commitment to Quality Principles and Practices
• Including any other related duties

1.2 Transport & Landside Security

• Providing leadership and management to all management teams and business units under this section in accordance with the company security and transport requirements
• Ensuring implementation of company security and land logistic systems including maintaining procedures and policies through the network
• Developing and maintaining security and land logistics standard procedures and systems
• Implementing PNG Air overall security and land logistics operating strategies and plans
• Managing PNG Airs transport, aircraft refuelling facilities and catering services through the network
• Providing expert advise to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and senior management team in relation to all areas of the business
• Reviewing and monitoring overall departments key performances on a regular basis
• Prepare and conduct risk assessments as requested on a timely basis in accordance with the company work place health and safety requirements
• Identifying business risks and opportunities relating to the departments functions and recommending appropriate actions and implementation strategies where applicable
• Maintaining good team work and customer relations within the department, company and externally including the clients/contractors.
• Maintaining constant liaison with the Police and reputable client - external security service providers available in the country.
• Other tasks as requested by the CEO

1.3 Support Facilities

Properties:

• Managing the overall maintenance of all company buildings (including outports) i.e. carpentry/plumbing/electrical related responsibilities on a day to day basis
• Responsible for upgrades associated with PNG Air properties and those leased from NAC
• Responsible for the regular company pest control
• Including any other related duties

Vehicles:

• Managing the light repair vehicle workshop
• Managing the workforce (Mechanics)
• Managing all vehicle safety registrations
• Responsible for providing recommendations for replacement of agent fleets where required.
• Including any other related duties

Our Ideal Candidate should;

• Displays a strong understanding of the PNG aviation industry and the PNG market.
• Strong management skills and the ability to promote a proactive, effective, efficient and change ready organisation.
• Commercial airline management experience having knowledge of and having worked in the areas of Revenue Management, Pricing Distribution, Network Management, Marketing and Sales.
• A broad understanding of the global commercial airline landscape and how a regional airline can commercially benefit from being a part of this network.
• Detailed knowledge of product distribution, passenger service systems, IATA standards, and e-commerce.
• Ability to negotiate and implement interline and codeshare relationships for both passenger and cargo businesses.
