Job Title: Azure L3 SME IaaS Operations
Location: Pune
Shift : 10 am to 7 PM, Mon to Sat

About the Role

As an Azure L3 SME (Subject Matter Expert) for IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) Operations, you ll act as a top-tier resource for designing, managing, and troubleshooting all things Azure infrastructure. You ll partner with cross-functional teams to ensure our Azure environment runs efficiently and securely, provide advanced technical guidance, and spearhead best practices for cloud-based deployments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advanced Technical Support
   • Serve as the go-to expert for complex Azure IaaS issues.
   • Troubleshoot escalated problems across virtual machines, networking, storage, and related services.
   • Collaborate with other specialists and vendors to resolve critical incidents in a timely manner.
2. Azure Environment Design Optimization
   • Lead the design and review of Azure IaaS architectures to ensure high availability, scalability, and cost optimization.
   • Evaluate new Azure features and services, offering recommendations on how to improve existing infrastructure.
   • Optimize resource provisioning using automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI).
3. Infrastructure Management Governance
   • Define and maintain governance standards, including naming conventions, tagging, and resource organization in Azure.
   • Ensure compliance with security policies, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
   • Implement and refine monitoring strategies, dashboards, and alerting mechanisms for proactive issue detection.
4. Performance Capacity Planning
   • Analyze system performance metrics, forecast resource needs, and make recommendations to avoid capacity shortfalls.
   • Conduct regular health checks to fine-tune system configurations and drive performance improvements.
   • Oversee strategic planning for scaling and capacity management in line with business growth.
5. Mentorship Collaboration
   • Mentor and coach junior to mid-level engineers, sharing best practices and guiding troubleshooting efforts.
   • Collaborate closely with DevOps, security, and application teams to support robust solution development and delivery.
   • Contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions and help maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
6. Continuous Improvement Innovation
   • Lead or participate in infrastructure projects that drive modernization and operational excellence.
   • Champion automation initiatives for repeatable tasks, encouraging team adoption of new tools and frameworks.
   • Keep up-to-date with the latest in Azure offerings, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
7. Good to Have : Veritas NetBackup, AWS native backup, and Tapa backup as secondary skills.
