Job Title: Azure L1 Backup DR Operations Specialist
Location: Pune
Shift : 10 am to 7 PM, Mon to Sat

About the Role

In this position, you will be our go-to person for first-level (L1) support when it comes to Azure-based backup and disaster recovery (DR) solutions. You ll monitor backup jobs, assist with basic troubleshooting, and help coordinate DR testing to ensure our systems remain resilient. You ll work alongside a supportive team of cloud engineers and IT administrators, collaborating to maintain reliable backup and DR processes that support business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Monitoring Alerts
   • Keep an eye on backup jobs and DR operations within Azure.
   • Review alerts and notifications, then escalate issues when necessary.
   • Respond swiftly to critical incidents, aiming to minimize downtime.
2. First-Level Troubleshooting
   • Conduct initial investigations for backup failures and DR test discrepancies.
   • Perform basic fixes or document issues for escalation to higher-level support.
   • Provide timely updates and keep stakeholders informed on progress.
3. Backup Management
   • Manage backup policies, schedules, and retention plans within Azure Backup.
   • Validate backup integrity and perform restore tests periodically.
   • Coordinate with team members to ensure backups are running smoothly and cost-effectively.
4. Disaster Recovery (DR) Coordination
   • Work with senior engineers on DR drills to validate that the failover process is smooth.
   • Help maintain runbooks and documentation for DR protocols.
   • Assist in reviewing DR strategies and suggesting improvements based on L1 insights.
5. Good to Have : Veritas NetBackup, AWS native backup, and Tapa backup as secondary skills.
6. Documentation Reporting
   • Keep clear, updated records of backup metrics and any incidents encountered.
   • Prepare basic reports for leadership on backup success rates, restore times, and DR test results.
   • Maintain up-to-date knowledge base articles for repeat issues and standard procedures.
