Head of Product/R&D - Switchgear & Control System
The primary responsibility of this role is to build high performing team with world-class electromechanical competency required to design and development of LV molded case Circuit Breakers to meet customer specific technical, cost and market related technology requirement in accordance with standards (IEC, UL.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the R&D team to drive the development of LV molded case circuit breaker products, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and schedule targets.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in product design, testing, and validation processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and features into the LV molded case circuit breaker product portfolio.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the R&D team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

- Career Planning and development.
- Build strong technical/RCA review and governance with stake holders and Customer FIRST mindset.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, standards, and best practices to drive product innovation and competitiveness.
- Planning, Executing, Monitoring, Controlling, and Improving during development cycle.
- Risk assessment on technology implementation/development.
- Lead development and responsible for the developmental implementation of the technology roadmap.
- Leading the department hardware, software, mechanics development as well as certification and R&D project management.
- Coordination and control of all development projects (multi-project management) with milestone tracking up to series launch.
- Adhering to the product specification with defined timeline, project cost and target product cost during development.
- Creation of the technology roadmap in cooperation with the product manager, hardware and software team leader.
- Future-oriented design of the division organization, as well as standardization of the development processes for efficient workflows.
- Cross-site exchange of development managers within other group companies in order to exploit synergies.
- Providing Technical solution for customer queries through product management or sales.
- Commitment for product costing by close interworking with Purchase / sourcing, production engineering and product management.
- Capable of sharing technical know-how with the engineering team and internal functions for execution of customer orders on need basis.
- Train the team on technological know-how and monitor the progress.
- Lead the Cost reduction activity by redesigning the products based on market demand from product management.
- Product quality and reliability to be ensured and achieve safety without any compromise.
Qualification And Experience:
1. Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical/mechanical Engineering or related field with Proven experience of 15-20 Years in R&D and product development within the MCCB Switchgear industry.
2. At least 5 years of People Management Experience.
3. Strong technical acumen and understanding of low Voltage Switchgear technologies, standards, and market trends.
4. Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate technical teams.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
6. Strong influence and Collaboration skills.
7. Business sense and Customer intimacy.
8. Good Presentation and communication skills.
9. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
